Jehovah Jireh! God is our provider! And He has provided!
Many months ago you had opportunity to read about our team’s urgent need to replace aging and unreliable group-owned vehicles (“Branch Vehicle Struggles” by Bethaney Butler).
I am thrilled to introduce you to our newest provision from God: a brand new Toyota Hilux double cab truck. This vehicle is built to take the rigors of driving conditions here. In the coming months and years it will drive Scripture use, translation, literacy, and language survey teams to remote locations inaccessible by less rugged vehicles. It will haul countless loads of people and cargo to a mission aviation hanger to be flown to villages reachable primarily by bush plane or helicopter. It will transport people to a sister organization’s center in the PNG highlands for training, meetings, and times of R&R. And it will provide safe, reliable transportation around town for team members who do not have their own vehicles. All this and much more – some of which we do not yet even envision.
We are grateful – on our own behalf, yes, but even more so on behalf of the Papua New Guineans we are here to serve. We thank God first for this wonderful ministry tool He has entrusted to our care. We also thank you who prayed that God would provide, and we thank you who gave to help make this purchase possible.
This new Hilux is not the only vehicle we hope to purchase this year. We have another van that we’d like to replace before it becomes as unreliable as the one we just disposed of. If you’d like to help, here’s how.
